I have spent my entire career in events. Currently, I am Director of Business Development for 3D Media, which consists of 2 elements:

1. 3D Connect - our social media solution:

3D Connect can be used as a 365/24/7 social media solution for associations, trade shows or events. If an association uses it for their broader purpose, they can also activate elements for, pre, at and post show useage.

It allows you to control, data mine and to generate revenues. It is designed to be a profit center rather than a cost. It is affordable enough that all organizations should be able to consider it.

2. 3D Promotions:

We put the "wow" and "thank you" into sponsorships since our founding in 1993.

Our concept is to offer your sponsors a focused spend on their targeted audience approach that delivers ROI, ROO and/or ROE. For instance, we can deliver back to the sponsor information on time spent engaged, samples distributed, survey questions answered, etc. We can even email a message to the participant while they are still at the event simply to say thank you or to drive them to further action with the sponsor at the show.

Prior to joining 3D in September of 2009, I spent 19 years as Director of Trade Shows for the National Automatic Merchandising Association. Earlier experiences were with Volume Services (now Centerplate) where I worked on several Super Bowls and World Series. My first position was as a marketing director for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.

"I agree with Steven.  Social media is indeed a very new platform and that's part of everyone's challenge. I also agree with Jeff and Corbin that social media for events is perfect for extending the life cycle. I'd suggest that we need to think less of the event itself and more about the creation of 365/24/7 communities that serve those interested in the the subject matter, wh..."
