Rita Dantas is the Head of Social Media at Helios Media and the Quadriga University.

After a short but pleasurable journalism excursion and a passionate yet deeply frustrating experience in politics she somewhat haphazardly ended up in Berlin, working in public relations and communication for a German publishing house. Having started as an international conference organiser, responsible among others for the European Communication Summit, she has now taken over the role of the company’s social-media-lady (pompous titles and full resume available on request). She has a first degree in Communication Science and a Masters degree in European Politics and has studied in Lisbon, Prague, Bath and Berlin.

As nerd categories go, she is to be placed in the Russian classics drawer rather than in the techy closet and is more than willing to explain her lack of excitement for several of the world’s most revolutionary gadgets by detailing how their value would translate if invested in books, shoes, wine and vintage lamps instead. She compensates for this apparent lack of credentials with an eager curiosity, a fearless addiction to new challenges, a genuine desire to communicate and an innate capacity to think outside of the box, reputably acquired through never having been supplied with the box in the first place.
