"I would miss everything - the great blog content, the intelligent and helpful community members and discussions, the networking. I think you've done a phenomenal job of building a niche community of professionals sharing insight and experiences on social media for events. Don't know of anyplace else like this that exists. Please don't shut it down!"

"What an awesome article with fantastic ideas - thanks, Jaime! Here's another idea: take certain points that were made during a presentation or panel discussion that seemed to resonate in some way with the audience (illicited head nods, mumbles or questions) or was a particularly hot topic and expand upon them in a blog post (or 2 or 3)."

"What a great idea, Chris! I think Twitter chats used in that way gives those who were unable to attend a way to participate from afar. I was thinking pre-show "Twitterviews" with speakers would be a great way to get people excited and give them a taste of what they can expect. I'm sure it would also be beneficial to the speaker by providing food for thought for their upcoming sess..."

"Have you used Twitter chats as a marketing/promotional or community-building tool for an event? What worked well for you?"

"I've used TwapperKeeper, which I thought was pretty useful for archiving tweets not only for a specific hashtag, but for specific keywords. I do have a few issues, though: I don't like how the service requires you to log in with a Twitter account to create an archive, and then it automatically tweets to your followers when you've created the archive. It doesn't catch al..."

"@Rodrigo - Wellknown.as looks interesting. I've signed up on your website and I'm trying it out. Any chance for a Droid app soon? Some constructive feedback, since you asked: I did notice that the Upcoming Events (http://wellknown.as/events/upcoming) lists events that are in the past. Also, I don't see a way to look for other people and connect with them - am I missing something..."

"This is such an awesome post - so many excellent ideas and tools! Thanks Jeff! SocialMention has a great embeddable widget where you can follow mentions of a specific keyword across all types of social media, including microblogs, social networks, social bookmarking sites, and video sites. Tweetwally is a pretty cool way to agreggate tweets onto a real-time streaming "wall" that c..."

"What is your favorite mobile app for events & why? I'm looking for suggestions to compile into a list. I'm not neccessarily looking for apps that are specific to a certain event, but apps that are for events in general - planning, tracking, geo-location, etc."

"I agree with you, Stuart, when you say "the vast majority of the potential audience for an event is never going to attend." But do you think that social media can be used to engage them throughout the year so the possibility of more of those folks attending increases?"

"I'd love to get ideas from all of you on how you manage your conference social media outposts between show cycles. First of all, do you maintain conference SM outposts between shows? What do you do to keep folks engaged and content fresh in the months before the next event starts ramping up?"

"Lynn - that's a really creative solution to the inherent problem with Foursquare as it's used for events, which you describe. Since you also mentioned other geo-location tools (Gowalla, Loopt), how did you decide to use Foursquare for your conference? Or are you encouraging attendees to use the other tools in a similar fashion as well? Maggie - I've seen DoubleDutch, and it defini..."

"Hi John - it was indeed # ii, because it was a last minute and experimental campaign. We literally thought of and implemented it the day before and morning of the session. However, you may very well be correct with your # iv reasoning. I'm definitely not saying that my method described above is foolproof, but I think that Foursquare is not quite adaptable for conference use yet - although I..."

"Hi Jeff - it was pretty easy to do. We even set up a Foursquare venue page for the entire show so people could check in, and as it turns out, a lot of attendees were doing the same thing themselves (since Foursquare allows anyone to create a new venue). So, there were many incarnations of the NAB Show page on Foursquare. Here are the steps to create a new venue: 1) Log in to Foursquare 2)..."

"We recently did some social media work for the 2010 NAB Show, and there were definitely people checking in to individual booths at the show. It's just a matter of creating a venue page for the booth using the address of the convention center or event location. We created a Foursquare page for an individual session with Stan Lee and modded by Chris Hardwick."
