Are you ready to move beyond the social media hype and get down to the business of using this platform to achieve pragmatic results for your association and its events? This collaborative, two-part series combines the experience of social media practitioners whose work with associations will give you two uniquely relevant perspectives.

Jeff Korhan is a New Media Marketer, a top-ranked blogger, and a professional speaker who helps entrepreneurs and small business owners and managers build online strategies that enhance their Web visibility, reputation, and referrals.

Brian Birch is the Assistant Executive Director of the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA), a national trade association of over 2000 professionals. Over the past 5 years Brian has applied his advanced training in eBusiness and anthropology to help SIMA grow its online presence while bridging the human/technology gap.

Brian and Jeff will provide proven techniques and examples that associations are using now.

  • Aligning goals, strategies, and plans with social media initiatives
  • Evaluating technology with the association member in mind
  • Establishing an interactive social media presence with a strategic hub

Hi all,
This is Brian Birch with the Snow & Ice Management Association

Looking forward to sharing some information about what I've learned over the past 2 years regarding social media and association management/marketing. I've got a real-life example to share with you, its fairly simple but I think illustrates how strategy impacts everything that we do, including our social media and web endeavors...
Visit http://www.market2snow.com to preview a few simple things I'll be talking about on Wednesday, we will upload more info about the session soon.

... And this is Jeff Korhan

As a professional speaker on various new media marketing topics, nearly 100% of my work is with associations representing entrepreneurs and small businesses owners.

Brian and I plan on giving your some practical, real-life experiences with the use of social media for events - both successes and challenges. Our idea is to move beyond the hype and start talking more about getting results - of any kind, so that we can then build on them. We'll also look at some social media tools - but the focus will be less on technology and more on using it to achieve quantifiable and useful results.

Brian has the lead on this first webinar, and I will do the same on the second one on April 21st. Together, we hope to give you at least our perspectives, along with those of others within our communities that we have worked with and interviewed in depth - specifically for these webinars.

If you would like to learn more about me, I "live" over at http://jeffkorhan.com where I blog daily about my experiences with social media and those of my clients and colleagues, One of my goals there is the same as here - to help those that I believe can benefit most from from this platform - small businesses, entrepreneurs, and the associations that support them.

Looking forward to having you join our session. :-)
